FATHER HEART OF GOD
What is God really like? What is it like to know him, to trust his character, to interact with him?
I could write so much. But let's keep it
1) brief
2) real.
I came into the first lecture week with a lot of expectations... but I found that more than I needed tons of bullet points on what God is like, I needed an encounter with a Good, Heavenly Father.
I needed to let down my walls and make room for the Spirit to take me by the hand and show me what my Father is like.
Along with wonderful teaching on the character of God, filled with Biblical wisdom, we also were encouraged to spend time alone with God to get to know him for ourselves.
Alone with the Father, I found a lot of doubts just beneath the surface.
"What if it's too presumptive to come in close and lean on you and sit on your lap?" I wrote. "I'm scared of getting it wrong."
Then we were told to ask God a question... and I invite you to ask him the same!
"God, what do you want to reveal to me this week about what you are like?"
His response to me was, "I want to show you how I DELIGHT in giving you good things." (Matt.7.11)
I just needed to let down my guard and TRUST that God means it when he says he's a GOOD FATHER, who delights in his kids.
I found that I so struggled to trust that he loved me like that. I knew it in my head, but my heart hadn't caught up yet.
But how gently God draws us in. Once I decided to take the step of trusting him, oh, how he surprised me with his goodness! His love truly brings freedom.
Take a moment today to seek the Lord.
This isn't just for YWAM and those crazy world-traveling young people. This is for YOU. Your Father wants to surprise you with his goodness today.
What is he speaking to you?

Would you be interested in supporting me as I prepare to go into the nations again this fall? I’m looking for people to partner with the mission the Lord has put on my heart; to return to Norway to serve the Body of Christ there as they send missionaries out to the nations. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a financial supporter?
